Ischgl Season Opener - Long Trip

Hey everyone! It is finally time to get back on the slopes! We are planning a trip to Ischgl to open the 2022/ 2023 ski season. We have decided to limit the number of people to just 30 - so book early!!! . In addition, you can gladly let us know if you have any preferences regarding who you want to share a room with.

    We´re staying at:

    • Hotel Erika, downtown Ischgl Tirol, Austria
    • 01.12.2022 - 04.12.2022
    • Accomodation in a 4 * Ski-in/ Ski-out hotel in downtown Ischgl incl. Breakfast, use of the Wellness area (sauna, steam room, infra-red cabin), a 3-day Ski pass and bus transportation. If you want to limit your social contacts during the trip, the hotel also has its own small bar on site.

We are heading to Ischgl which is known for its famous bars and restaurants and for its amazing ski runs.

We will be leaving from ZOB Munich (next to Hackerbrücke) at 16:00 hrs on Thursday, Dec. 1st, 2022. ZOB is easily reached by bus, streetcar or S-Bahn.

For the first time, the ski club will be staying at Hotel Erika  - a great ski in/ ski out hotel right on the slopes in downtown Ischgl. The hotel is just 100 meters from some of the best restaurants and bars in Ischgl - right off the pedestrian zone - and only 250 meters to the main gondola. It has a lovely sauna/ wellness area as well as it´s own bar. This hotel is very difficult to book and we are very fortunate to have secured this booking.

Here a link to the hotel website:

We will offer two price categories for the trip.

Category 1: 2- person occupancy (initially reserved for members only)

    Category 2: 3- or 4- person occupancy

Please pay attention to changing corona rules that may apply to all hotels and to all guests staying at Austrian hotels.

Prices range between € 500 p.P.  and € 570 p.P. depending on booking class and membership status (incl. 3 nights accommodation, breakfast buffet, return bus transportation and a 3-day lift pass)

It is very easy to rent equipment in Ischgl, if you don´t have your own. There are multiple opportunities down in the village or up on the mountain both offering the newest gear. Ischgl also has many ski schools. So if you want to learn improve your skiing right at the beginning of the season, here is your opportunity.

Please read and understand the cancellation policy. In summary, if we can reallocate your spot, you will only need pay the cancellation fee of €30.

In case the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues a travel warning, and the trip needs to be cancelled, payments will be refunded in full within three days (same as last year). If by September 26th, 2021 the required number of participants has not been reached,  MISC reserves the right to cancel the trip. In this case payments will also be refunded in full within three days.

    • Hochfügen
    • 11

As this trip was such a success last year, we're going to Hochfügen again for 2 or 3 days skiing (your choice) including the weekend during the peak snow period. This is a fantastic resort for skiers and boarders of all levels, with modern gondolas taking you to the top of long red and blue runs, as well as some of the best in-resort off-piste skiing and boarding in Austria.

For maximum flexibility in your choice of ski days we're going by private car. Après-Ski each day will be at the Montana Alm - where we will also have dinner and spend the night. From the moment the first lift opens the following morning we can ski and board until stumps. Accommodation and breakfast is provided for two nights, Friday to Sunday . Dinner is à la carte and not included. A lift day-pass is provided for each of Saturday and Sunday - many people will also ski on Friday but lift pass is not provided.

Montana Alm is ski-in-ski-out and a short walk up the road from the bottom of the resort. You may have to carry your luggage up, so consider not packing too excessively.

Price includes accommodation Friday and Saturday nights with breakfast. Sleeping arrangement is double-room or in an eight-person bunk room with towels and bedding provided, as well as free WLAN. Dinner and drinks are not included. Lift day-passes for each of Saturday and Sunday are not included in the base price, but are optional when you book at about 10% discount from the regular lift price (4 Euro deposit is included).

Transport is private but we will help organize car sharing. Transport costs are calculated at 40 cents per km, which comes to 120 Euros to be shared among all occupants including driver if travelling from Munich - this shall include all costs (fuel, road tolls, infringement tickets, operating costs, damage, insurance, depreciation, etc). This adds flexibility (optional skiing on Friday) and is cheaper than a bus (which would be about 70 Euro per person).

Season-pass holders please deselect the option for us to provide you passes when you fill out the booking form.

Payment terms: Places are only considered reserved once payment has been received in full. Specify at the time of booking your preferences of with whom you want to share a room - eg with the name of your partner, or gender preference, or whatever - and we will do our best but with 8-bed bunk rooms it's not guaranteed If the trip takes place but you cannot attend for any reason we will do our best to find someone to take your place, and refund anything the club did not have to pay on your behalf minus a 30 Euro cancellation fee (for club members only, one free cancelation per season); beyond that you need to get your own travel insurance. Of course, if the trip cannot or does not take place you will be promptly refunded 100%.

Emergency phone number: A WhatsApp group will be created for the weekend, which you can voluntarily join for communicating with others in the group.

The meeting point is the Montana Alm on Friday evening, but of course many people will arrange to meet up to ski together on Friday morning via the WhatsApp group.
