Radstadt ski trip (6th-8th of March) UPDATE there is a lot of interest from people wanting to go on the weekend trip 6 - 8 March to Radstadt. This is part of the Skiwelt Amade in Salzburgerland. The price is 165 for the hotel, breakfast, dinner and a 2 day ski pass, 110 for kids 13 and under. So far, most of the people that would like to go do not have a car. I have checked with our bus company and I can arrange a bus, leaving Munich on Friday at 16:30, returning on Sunday around 20:00. If we have at least 20 people on the bus it would cost 55 per person round trip, the price then goes down for each additional person on the bus; ie, 30 people would mean it would cost 36 per head. The bus would not be there all weekend, meaning you would need to take the free ski bus or I can arrange taxis (about 5 Euro per person each way) to get to the various areas included in the ski pass. If you have already signed up for the trip or are thinking about it, please send me an email (vicepresident@munichskiclub.com)and let me know if you would like me to arrange for a bus so I can give you price info and even see if the option is viable. Oktoberfest Sunday 21st September There is a minor change this year; the reservation begins at 13:00 (NOT 12:00 as in years past). This is because the Hacker Tent is selling Frühschoppen seating this year, from 9:00 - 12:30. Since there has never been anyone in the box before noon in years past, I don't think we will be greatly affected. If you get there before 13:00 and the tables are free then take a seat (the whole box is for our group until 17:45, then we have 2 tables until closing).
Where: Hackerzelt - Himmel der Bayern (across from Augustiner) Box 11 (back of the tent), also known as the Bierzirkus, entrance N1.
When: 13:00 - please be on time, they can give away tables at 13:30 if they are not filled.
As usual, we like to meet at the fountain at Lenbachplatz (U4/U5 to Stachus then exit following the signs for Lenbachplatz) to watch the Trachtenzug. For all you Wiesn Virgins, that is a big parade with hundreds of people in traditional dress of their regions, the beer wagons, and so on. It should be coming by Lenbachplatz around 10:30. Everyone brings a bottle of bubbly (the fountain is quite handy for chilling purposes) and maybe snacks to share. I will be there from 10:00 - 11:00 and you can pick up your tickets there if you like, otherwise they will be distributed in the tent. Only people with a paid reservation are entitled to a seat in the box.
Please call Donna on (089) 470 8337 if you have questions . See you Sunday!
